More
Than
Just
Dots!
To the untrained eye most scalp pigmentation treatments look the same. This is true. Just dots, right?
To be honest, I thought the same before joining the scalp micropigmentation world.
Give me a few moments of your time and I’ll show why all dots aren’t equal...
Rules Aren't Made to Be Broken
My training is a system, with clear, definite steps. If you follow these steps, and do not deviate you will produce natural-looking, beautiful scalp work which will heal wonderfully.
I don’t think scalp practitioners should see themselves as artists. We are more like architects. We work with rules, but these rules allow us to replicate our results and remove the need for guess work, or risk of having variable results. It is important you understand this before continuing, as some scalp trainers will encourage their students to ‘explore their creativity’. They are entitled to their opinion, but from the start I think it is important to separate myself from this approach.
I don’t believe that the scalp is a place for creativity, or experimentation. If you agree with my approach you will love my Scalp System.
Actually, I would go so far as to say compared to some other very complex permanent makeup methods (e.g. medical areola or hairstroke eyebrows) scalp micropigmentation with the right system is easier.
However, I would argue that the margin for error is smaller as we cover much larger surface areas than conventional micropigmentation methods, so it is important that the technique you implement is correct, every time.

How Do I Feel About Scalp Micropigmentation?
Although It is pretty crazy to ponder where my scalp micropigmentation journey has taken me the past few years. I still love scalp as much as I always have, and I’ll always maintain the same work ethic that got me here.
In fact, I still see myself as a student in this craft, I really feel grateful to do what I do... I am paid to make people feel more self-assured and confident, and soon you can be too!
IF I COULD DO SCALP FOR free...I WOULD!
BAD SMP COMES FROM BAD training!

Who is It For?
Don't limit yourself to just one client type. Diversification is the key.
Although male scalp micropigmentation is most known method of SMP, what you will learn on my class has many different applications - allowing you to offer all of them, or to choose to specialize in a particular method (e.g. females, or in medical scalp micropigmentation).

What's The Future of SMP?
I believe scalp micropigmentation has a very bright future, in fact... I think it has just begun! Here’s why…
Whilst scalp micropigmentation has been around for over 20 years, modern scalp micropigmentation is very recent.
What’s the difference?
In recent years there has been a lot of new developments in the scalp micropigmentation field. Everything has elevated: the devices, the needles, the pigments and also the techniques itself.
Scalp micropigmentation artists always aimed for ‘true-to-life’ results but due to limitations in technology and methodology it simply wasn’t achievable until today. Basically... the tools are finally in sync with the potential of the technique.
This presents scalp micropigmentation practitioners today with an enormous opportunity.
Surge in Popularity
It has seen a surge of popularity in only the past 2-3 years, especially among athletes. As you’ve no doubt realised, it doesn’t take long for this to filter down into the mainstream (think of David Beckham’s influence on the sleeve tattoo). Like them or not, if sport's personalities and celebrities can have such dramatic effects on the popularity of a cosmetic tattoo type which is expensive (it can cost a lot more than a SMP procedure) and divisive, try to imagine their impact eventually on a something which influences self-esteeem as much as hair loss?
The Facts
Let's look at some facts.
Hair transplants have increased by 48% in recent years (IHRSS), which can be extremely expensive (£5000 + for good work), and there can be a lot of variability in whether the hair is retained or not.
Scalp micropigmentation is used in many hair transplant clinics as either an additional service, or a complimentary service (to augment the appearance of hair density on the scalp after a successful hair transplant). These clinics often contract independent scalp micropigmentation artists (and take a commission for this). Once you have a portfolio it is a great opportunity for you to grow your business model with local Doctors.
In fact, one survey spells it out quite clearly: 43.2% said they'd prefer thicker, fuller hair over a significantly higher salary.
However, I do not think this opportunity will be there forever, it is important to develop yhour reputation as a scalp micropigmentation artist now.
